My New Silver Thimble

This is my new Thimble.

My new Old Thimble.

I found it at a shop when I was on vacation in Wisconsin.

Isn't it beautiful?  I love the design etched on it.
And it's sterling.  And I found it at a bargin!

And...it fit me.

If you look at it from the bottom, you can see that it is mis-shapen.
It is kind of an oval instead of round.

I think over time, it became the shape of the finger that wore it.  I wonder about the woman whose finger shaped this thimble that I now own.

and the shape fits my finger perfectly.

What a sweet find...and it fits! I have fat fingers, so all the antique thimbles that I have are too small.

That is so neat... imagine all the projects that lil' thimble had a part in? Love antiques... even better the stories to go with them!
