One gross (=12 dozen or 144 buttons) Circa 1915 Mother of Pearl Buttons on cards.
These buttons were made in Austria prior to World War I. Notice the buttons were hand sewn on the cards!
See the Made In Austria stamp on the back of the card.
Each card has a letter to identify them in this picture.
This picture is for a fellow button lover who purchased a card at a market and has used them up. If you don't see a card of the buttons you have now, they are Gone, Gone, Gone! But they are all beautiful. All are in short supply. Some are shorter supply than others. I bought all of them the first time I saw them. I love them. I will try to get them for sale on my Web site sooner or later. They are going with me to market.
I love the old button cards. I would hate to see the buttons taken off them. They would be beautiful if you took 3 of them and put them in a shadowbox frame! I have a lot of the buttons like in your picture where they are loose. They are the ones I (sit down and take a deep breath, Jeannie) GLUED to a mirror frame! Have fun at market. Your sister, Kathy
