Two of my favorite things stitched onto another favorite - a Hanky.
(I love to use a hanky - how many of you do too?)
"Lawn fabric trimmed with white embroidery in cord stitch and stem stitch edged with flounce in Valenciennes lace. Simple pattern comprising openwork flowers. Monogram M H surmounted by a royal crown."
The stitching on this hanky is very fine and well executed.
It belonged to the Queen of Belgians

ReplyDeleteWe don't even have a box of paper tissues in our house. I got my husband onto using handkerchiefs when we got married 35 years ago. I have always used a cloth handkerchief. I usually get started on my Tuesday ironing early Monday night by ironing all the handkerchiefs. If I have time I will iron my aprons. We also don't use paper napkins or paper towels. I enjoy monogramming my husbands handkerchiefs. It is a little project I can take to Dr. appointments. My granddaughter, who is 8, now won't go anywhere without a handkerchief.
