Who doesn't love a Wedding Dress?
This one is made from cotton muslin and lined with linen.
Made in England around 1851.
The bodice of the dress is simple in design.
But the lace veil would have transformed the Bride who wore it.
Here you can see the intricate lace design of the veil on the left. On the right we see the pretty ruffles at the lower part of the skirt.
I can imagine the ruffles on the skirt of a little girls dress. Or maybe three ruffles to finish the bottom of a Christening Gown. Do you see it?

This is truly lovely. I can see how the lines on the bodice and the skirt would have highlighted the bride's waist and given the illusion that it was even smaller. That veil is heavenly. I look forward to seeing how you take inspiration from this gown and interpret it for a child.
