An Angel Appeared to Mary

The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, a virgin, who was engaged to be married to Joseph. 

He said to her "Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you" Luke 1:28

And the angel told Mary, she would bear a son whose name shall be Jesus. Jesus would be conceived of the Holy Spirit.

"He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David: and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end....The Holy Child shall be called the Son of God" Luke 1:32-35

And Mary said "Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." and the angel departed from her. Luke 1:38
