Old Pink Daygown

I love Daygowns!!

This little pink one is very simple but so cute.
Notice the cross stitch which is used along the front facing and the sleeves and neck edge.   Very subtle..like a secret.

You can make this little gown using Baby Layette pattern.  Just add a little  extra fabric at the neck and gather it.

I am going along for a tour with Pink Saturday!  Join me and How Sweet The Sound.

  2. Oh, sooo, sooo sweet. I haven't begun heirloom sewing yet, but I think I will someday. I do a little home dec stuff and sew for my own wardrobe, but one day, I will make things like this gown. Say, for any grandchildren God blesses us with....

  3. I am amazed at how delicate old dresses appear... yet they are still around! When my mother-in-law was expecting my husband, someone made a little dainty dress all hand sewn with entredeaux and shell stiched hem... just beautiful! She never put my husband in it (PTL!) but kept it and gave it to me when we had our little girl! It is over 46 years old and is one of my precious treasures!
