Our small group was just like sewing with friends for a nice long weekend.
It was a fun group to teach!
And they loved the small class size.
This dress is made from my Baby Rose pattern.
This was our project.
We used Sewing Machines to stitch the lace onto our fabric.
I love the look of this lace on the pale green fabric.
Beautiful!
Jane is cutting the fabric away from behind the lace. I told them they couldn't talk while they did this!
It was a beautiful day so we opened the outside door.
But the lighting in the classroom was fantastic even without the door open.
She is using Lace Scissors to prevent nicking her lace.
And now, out of the classroom and into the Farmhouse Fabrics store !
Antique ribbons on the cutting table.
Her many shelves are full and fuller of wonderful fabrics.
If you think this is just a jumble of fabric....well, you are mistaken!
These shelves must hold any and every kind of Dotted Swiss fabric that is available today.
I love the Capitol Dotted Swiss! My favorite.
Miss Dot holding up two of her creations for which she used my Summer Clothes pattern.
And if you have ever been to Farmhouse Fabrics you have seen some of the garments made by the wonderful Miss Dot!
But, I think Miss Dot needs her own post!
until next time.....Jeannie

I LOVE dotted swiss! I think I could get lost in there!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh....I would so love to have been at that class!!! Maybe someday...I can not wait to see the miss dot post!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, Miss Dot does need her own post. I'd love to hear the stories she could tell. From her pic, what a lovely lady and her dresses are darling!
ReplyDeleteI am green with envy--what a wonderful class and an inspiring store. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. Beautiful work. I'm looking for a technique I saw and can't remember where. I'm hoping you can help me. I saw beads had been sewn to a button on a baby dress. Is there somewhere I can find instructions on how to do this?
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Every time I visit your blog, it's like stepping into another world. I don't know anyone who makes such beautiful heirloom clothing or even anyone who does smocking. The nearest SAGA meetings are a 2-hour drive away. I certainly don't enjoy the lovely climate you've got, so my garden enjoyment is far more limited, and finally I can't imagine having the free time to attend classes like you teach. Having said all that, I want you to know what a lovely little mental vacation I take whenever I visit your blog. You are a real blessing to my day!
ReplyDeleteBelinda, I'm sorry but I haven't seen the beads you are talking about. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeannie, just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
