The St. Louis Smockers were serious students!
Everyone was eager to learn.
Much care went into setting up the room. It was lovely.
And they had used my favorite OFB colors!!
This was one of the favors.
I have never seen such a cute cookie.
You can't see it here, but they had decorated the table with Teapots!
And Roses, too!
One of the classes was a combination of hand sewing and machine sewing.
Stitching Tucks and lace on our Bonnet.
And carefully cutting the fabric from behind the Lace Insertion.
This class is "The St. Louis Fancy Snail Shirring Bonnet".
I made up this class for the St. Louis Guild. One student suggested I call my Bonnet...the St. Louis Bonnet. I think it's good name!
I get to see lovely needlework creations as I move about among the students. This one is both lovely and handy. And the colors are divine!
The dress on the right is the Whip Tuck Baby Dress which was a hand sewing class for one of the two days. We embellished the dress and then it was completed at home using a sewing machine.
It was a totally enjoyable teaching experience.
Sewing ladies are such nice people, aren't they?
More to show you later.....!

ReplyDeleteHow fun... stitching and sweet fellowship!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. It was so good to see you, wish we had more time to visit. I was so bummed I had to miss day two but sometimes you just have to know your limitations. I do have all of the tucks on my dress done and part of the lace. Just slow going these days. Thanks so much for sharing your time with us, it was great.
