Featherweight Sewing

I have enjoyed seeing my Friend and her Featherweight when she comes to town.

This is what we did on her latest visit.
Friend: 3 blocks
Me: 1 block

(in my defense, she already had the pieces ready to assemble!  but, truth be told, I AM slow)

I used my new pink fabric to sew another block for My Lizzie's Legacy Quilt.

excerpts from Betsy's book "Lizzie's Legacy":

April 6, 1874 - worked on Vina's quilt in the evening
April 7, 1874-  Sewed on Vina's quilt in the morning
April 8, 18 74 -   Finished Vina's quilt top

You go girl!

  1. Jeannie, I love that you are using your featherweight. I am curious as to how it really sews and how you would compare it to todays great technically driven machines.

I have been blessed to have had one gifted to me that was in a family from the time it was bought new. I however have not had the privilege of using it as it went straight to the "spa" for a cleaning and tune-up where I found an acrylic table that was made specifically for featherweights. Would you recommend the additional table for more of a flat work space?

I am really curious as to your thoughts - I love that you really enjoy yours and seem to use it often.

Have a blessed Easter weekend. Jody
