French Acadian Gown for Baby Girl - post 3

Baby Slip

I am working on my gift for The Baby Shower for my new Granddaughter.  The Shower is Oct. 1 so I have a deadline.   See   Post 1,  Post 2

I began my sewing at night and didn't trust myself to start on the gown, so I stitched the slip.

I've finished most of the top.  Whip tucks and Shell Hem.

To learn how to do the Shell Hem.. see here.

I have chosen all of my laces.  Lovely Malines.

The gown is hand hemstitched at the neck. Done!

Both sleeves have tiny hand stitched pin tucks and are marked for embroidery.

This is too much fun.

May this child be a blessing to all who know her

"He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. "
Psalm  91:11

  1. This slip is going to be almost too lovely to cover with a gown,
However, I've seen your gowns- it will be splendiferous

  2. You have been very busy! The shell stitch looks absolutely perfect, as I know yours would be.
