Although I am not making this dress, this is the pattern I am using for the dresses I am working on for my SB article.Tea time by the fire. Earl Gray is my favorite tea. With chocolate Graham Crackers. Yum!
I spent Friday morning stitching by the fire, which I have come to love. I had to work though because of my newly discovered deadline. So, I did the same thing I do when I am having fun. I stitched!Neckline Tip
Especially when you are working with fabric that ravels, be sure to stay stitch the neckline.
Always stitch from the center toward the shoulder. If this had not been linen, which is prone to fray, I would have waited until the front and back were stitched together before I stay stitched the neck. Then I would have stitched from the center front to the very back of the neck. Stitch just inside the seam allowance and use a short stitch length when stay stitching.

Thanks for the tip. Such a dainty dress. The fireside stitching makes me think of those who did the same, so long ago.

Martha, Thankyou, yes, the fabric is linen.
Hi Jeannie
I just love your baby designs. I often think I could easily have lived in the Victorian era with all that lovely lace and embroidery. Your work is just gorgeous!
Blessings
