A (small) Glimpse of Saga National and a Daygown

Me and two friends after lunch at one of the many great restaurants in the hotel.

A fun thing about Saga Convention is not cooking meals.  

Every bite of food I had at this hotel was fantastic.

Martha (Southern Matriarch) brought "Show and Share" which I love, love, love!!

This pattern is Embroidered Raglan Daygowns.

I love white with a touch of color.

Look how cute the neck is with binding and piping combined.

The same fabric/piping was used at the hem.

The overall look of the Daygown was too cute!

She was on her way to wait for her Grandbaby to be born so this Daygown will be put into serious use quickly.

Beautiful Florida Flowers.

I have a few more I Phone photos to show you but I didn't bring my camera so I am short of good pictures.  But someone is going to send me some pics  that she took so you can see what fun we had during Convention.

Embroidered Raglan Daygown Stitched by a Friend.

The neck and sleeves are finished with Blue Bias Binding.

The hem was stitched with two strands of matching embroidery floss.

A Friend Makes "Embroidered Raglan Daygowns"

My Friend made this Daygown from my pattern Embroidered Raglan Daygowns.

It is so cute!!

She crocheted a tiny edging in the entredeux.

I love white and blue!

She used an embroidery design from my Embroidery Book.

It's on page 19.  Shadow Embroidery instructions are included too.

I am always amazed how how much she gets done.

I love this little Daygown.

The Gown is  "Embroidered Raglan Daygowns"

Look close and you will see a cute little Duck family Shadow Embroidered on the hem.

I get such pleasure seeing a baby dressed in one of my designs!

See how happy she is to be wearing an Old Fashioned Baby Gown!!  I just know that's the reason.  Wonder who she is looking at with those adoring eyes!

Daygown Sew Along - Lesson Six

Use a Lace Board for ease in preparing lace for stitching.

Although not necessary, a lace board is handy when gathering lace to fit the entredeux.

I am pulling two threads in the lace heading to gather the lace.

Today, we are going to begin our Lesson with attaching Lace Edging to the Entredeux.

The lace edging will be attached at the Neck and the Sleeves.  We have already attached the entredeux.

Here are examples of lace edging attached to entredeux at the neck.  The lace is gathered on the white Daygown.  The lace is attached without gathering on the blue daygown.

You can gather the lace at the neck and sleeves or you can leave it ungathered.  For a boy, either is acceptable but it is more tailored if the lace is left ungathered.

Go to Step 4 in your pattern instructions for   View 2 of Embroidered Raglan Daygowns to read about attaching lace to entredeux at the neck edge.  Cut the lace the length it states, then go to my Gathering Lace Post  for more detailed instructions.  Read the entire post for clarification and stitch the lace to entredeux following the pattern instructions.

Gathered lace edging sewn to the entredeux on the sleeve.

Lace to entredeux - sew it right sides together.

Lace is pressed away from the sleeve.

Side Seams

Sew the side seams in a French Seam. 

Be sure to match the sleeve edge.  I stick a pin through the entredeux to keep it from shifting.

 Match the sleeve edges, then match the underarm seams of Front and Back, then match the lower edge.  Stitch a pretty little French Seam.

Now, you will have completed stitching all the lace to the Daygown and finished the side seams in a French Seam.  You are almost done!!  Hope you have kept up!

Lovely Example of Embroidered Raglan Daygown
