I just added a new kit in my Web Shop.

The fabric is a beautiful pink broadcloth with lovely Swiss trims.

You can make this same pretty white dress in pink - easy with a kit!

The fabric is a pretty and soft Nashville cotton Broadcloth.  I am continuing to pull out merchandise to put  online.  Nashville Cotton Factory had a great fabric line.  They no longer exist….but I have some of their fabric.  60" wide, 100% cotton.

Toddler Summer Dresses pattern.

I love this dress!

The Yoke features Lace Edging attached to Swiss Insertion.

I teach this dress as a class for Guilds and shops.

It's a great class.  There is a tucked Yoke and Skirt on wonderful fabric.  The Swiss Trim is rolled and whipped to the hem.  And You learn about construction of a sleeveless Yoke dress with special techniques such as a hidden seam at the yoke embellished with Swiss Beading.

This dress includes my favorite embroidery stitch -

 Featherstitching along with Old Fashioned Bullion Roses.

This is the fancy version of Toddler Summer Dresses.  Perfect for Easter, Summer Birthdays or Beach Pictures.

Some finishing up touches.

And the matching up of the lining.

Swiss Beading is the perfect finish for the seam at the yoke/skirt.

We cover up the seam allowance with the beading. 

 Then thread the ribbon through and it's beautiful.

New Year Garment Reviews - Toddler Summer Dresses

Toddler Summer Dresses - Shadow Embroidered Version.

I plan to post pictures of all my patterns this year.  Some pictures you have seen but I hope you are inspired all over again!

This little dress is made from Pinwale Pique fabric.  

Very Summery!!

The hem is easy as can be with a Swiss Edging trim that has 4 strands of embroidery floss woven through it.  The floss accents the blue embroidery and the piping.

Miss Dot made this Toddler Summer Dress for Farmhouse Fabric to display.

She was inspired to create her own embroidery design.  The yoke of this little dress is the perfect canvas for embroidery of any kind.

I really like the piping at the bottom of the hem.  She used a fabric to face the hem, sandwiching the piping between them.  Very cute and clever is Miss Dot!

This is is a very easy dress to make and comes in size 1, 2 and 3 in one pattern.

Fabric requirements for this View up to size 3 is:

57" wide fabric - 1 Yard

45" wide fabric - 1 3/8 Yard

Cute Dress

I love this dress!

While I was at Farmhouse Fabrics I spied this dress.

It is made from my OFB pattern Toddler Summer Dresses.

The fabric is Pique and the embroidery is just plain  C U T E!!

I was told Miss Dot made it.  Well that figures since everything Miss Dot made is cute.

I don't know where she got the embroidery design. 

She faced the hem so she could add the piping  to it.  I really like the way the piping looks.

This is the  Toddler Summer Dress I brought with me.  

It was fun to see how different  this pattern  can look simply by changing the type of embroidery and adding the contrast piping.

Teaching In New Orleans

I will be teaching in New Orleans on September 21 and 22 for the GNO  SAGA guild.   

Our project is the Toddler Summer Dress.

We will be learning and perfecting two of my favorite embroidery stitches, Featherstitching and Bullion  Rosebuds.

And stitching Lace to Entredeux and learning a neat finish to the skirt/bodice seam.

The lovely fabric is called Dress Weight Batiste.  It is a Swiss Batiste that is just slightly more opaque making it nice for a dress.  Presses up very crisply!

We will add Tucks to the hem and the bodice and Swiss Edging at the hem.  This class has some pretty embellishments but it is really a good class to brush up on your construction techniques.

What I love about Swiss Edging!

A few of my favortite Swiss Trims. 

I like Swiss Edging's  that are finished with entredeux.  The entredeux side is attached to the fabric just like you would attach entredeux to fabric.  And the edging side is...well the edge!

I used a Swiss Edging here to embellish either side of the front placket of Baby's First Daygowns.

It added just the right touch to this little Daygown.

On Toddler's Summer Dresses I used it at the hem.  Again I wove floss through the entredeux edge of the trim.  I love to do that on white fabric!!

On colored fabric's, I use it as is!

Perfect for the hem of a Baby Dress!!

Toddler Summer Dresses - Shadow Embroidery

This little dress was made by a Friend.

She used the Toddler Summer Dresses pattern and an embroidery design from Best Embroidered Baby Clothes 2.

This is the same dress, full view, but with the embroidery design that comes in the Dress pattern.

I like the way the yoke on this dress is perfect for stitching whatever design you heart desires!

Tucks and narrow Swiss trim at the hem.

So cute for summer!

Sew Beautiful and My New Pattern!!

I have received much interest in this dress  featured in the brand new Sew Beautiful Magazine.

It is called Toddler Summer Dresses.

It is one of the patterns that will be available soon but is not ready now!

I am working hard!

This is an elegant but simple little sleeveless Tucked Dress.

I have this Swiss Edging for sale too, but just haven't put it on my web site yet.

There are tucks at the hem to match the ones on the yoke.  

And floss threaded through the Swiss Edging.

Not shown in the magazine is the other Dress view in the pattern.

It does not have tucks but has a sweet Shadow Embroidery Design (included) on the Yoke.

And no tucks on the hem either, just a Swiss Edging.

I used a fine Pima Pique for this dress.
