My Granny Quilt

My Granny Quilt.  Blue is my favorite color.
I have been following the Blog "Life's Little Garden".  Granny, who recently passed away, made quilts and sold them.  I was fortunate to have purchased one of the last ones she made.

To those of us who sew, and those of us of faith, she was someone to be encouraged by.  She was still enthusiastic about her days.  She was excited to sew her quilts each day and she loved God.

In addition, her family loved her and it showed.  They visited her. They came to thread the needle of her sewing machine, which she could no longer do.  They cut her squares for her quilts.

I think that is what I liked most about reading the posts about her daily life.
We all hope to be so loved in our old age.

I hope someone will be happy to thread my needle when I can't.

"Let love be genuine.  Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.  Love one another with brotherly affection. Out do one another in showing honor"
Romans 12:9,10

What a treasure you have there, knowing the love that was put into every stitch. You will have many who will want to thread the needle for you.

How sweet! I agree about threading the needle.
My mom was legally blind, but she tried to keep on quilting. I would thread her a whole bunch of needles when I was there, and so would her friends.
Were the last few quilts usable? No, but it was the only thing she had to do to occupy her mind. My kids used the quilts regardless of how they looked. We would have never hurt her feelings by telling her that.

Hi Jeannie B,
I was so happy to hear from you today. I have been enjoying your past posts that I have missed, and you have certainly been making some beautful things lately. I loved the photo of your beautiful roses on your arbor!
I don't think you will have any trouble finding someone to thread your needle when the time comes, because I'm sure that you have a ton of friends that will be happy to have you continue to make your wonderful creations. AND, you have a long time before you'll need the help. lol
hugs,
