Sew Sew's Have Fun!

This is a quilt with a story!
Isn't it beautiful?

An elderly neighbor gave the quilt squares to one of our SewSew members.  They were made by the neighbors Mother or Grandmother, can't remember which.  After aging a while longer in our Sew Sew's sewing room, our Sew Sew gave the squares to another of our Sew Sew's who gave them to her sister. Did you follow that?

And the Sew Sew's Sister put this wonderful quilt together!  I am in love with the happy colors and 30's Fabric (the real 30's fabric not reproduction!)

It took me awhile to realize the design is made up of hearts!  With leaves and the blanket stitch.

That was one show and tell!  I found another in the kitchen...sometimes it pays to help in the kitchen.  You can see some cute stuff!
And another Story came with it.  This one told in stitched pictures.

These are Newly-weds  Chicken and  Rooster.  The Chicken has a Veil floating behind her!
Our hostess, Lorraine, was given three Dish Towels by her neighbor (I am living in the wrong neighborhood!) that were embroidered many years ago and  kept safely put away.

Now Mama Chicken is sitting on a nest.

Papa Rooster is proud of his newly little hatched chicks!

We had alot of fun stitching and talking and laughing and eatting.  I have one more thing to show you....next post!

Come, be my friend,
and together we will play.
We'll be happy and busy
all through the day.
