Jane's Sewing Room

It turns out that I did a lousy job with the photographs I took of Jane's Sewing Room. Sorry!
In front of Jane is her Cutting out and work table.
Jane is the lady I stayed with in New Orleans while teaching for GNO SAGA.
She gave me permission to share some photos of her sewing Room.

Above is Jane in the photo so you can get a perspective of how large the room really is.  She is standing in front of a sewing machine nook. Lots of bookshelves and under storage to the right.

I didn't get a chance to look at her books.  Her sewing room was so full of treasures that I was completely distracted!

She used a tension rod for hanging up garments.  That is such a cool idea. I have been searching my space for two walls to put a tension rod between.  She seems to have had some idea of what she was doing as she set up her space.

This is Jane's cutting out and work table.  She used kitchen cabinets for the base so she has wonderful storage under it and the height is comfortable.

I love this wall of lower cabinete and glass fronted ones - also kitchen cabinets from a local do it your self home place. Can't remember if she said it was Home Depot or not.   She told me that she would have had more basic storage if not for the glass doors but she wanted a place to display some of the things she loves.  I think they are wonderful!  It was fun to look at the things behind the glass.  They look custom made for the space.  I love the white.

The room has a window seat which is perfect for the vintage Thread cabinet and some other pretty things.

I hate to tell you but that is the end of the Sewing Room pictures I took!  And you missed out seeing an entire wall!  And lots of great ideas she used making this room pretty and functional.  But I did take  pictures of a few things in her collection - though not enough.  That will be for another time.

She is a lucky girl to have this great room to sew in.  And a huge window, too.  It was night when I took these photos so the blinds are down.

Hope you enjoyed this little Sewing Room tour.

I love the sewing room tour! I'm in the midst of reworking my sewing room so it's so nice to see what others have done. Thanks for sharing this with us, and I can't wait to see the other photos you took.
