My Holiday - York and a Cute Shop

Smocked Dresses in a shop in York, England!!

Wandering along the streets in the evening, we found this very cute Shop.

The name of it…Lace and Magic, along with the cute children's clothes in the window lured me right inside!

This sign was promising but the lace was really mainly doilies and runners with lace edging.  Nothing to use in sewing.

The Christening Gowns were not as pretty as our own "Heirloom" Gowns.  A lot of synthetic fabrics on them.

But the little dresses were very cute.  Lots of Smocking.
These made by Sarah Louise.

We saw a lot of cute Cardigans over the cute dresses.
It's cold there and they are much needed.

We went to the Evensong Service at the York Cathedral (the largest Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe).  It was beautiful.  The scripture reading was John, same as my Bible Study at home.  And the Psalms that were sung were beyond wonderful.

If you arrive a bit early, you are able to sit in the Choir, right in the middle of the heavenly voices.

York is a really fun place to wander about.

Having More Fun!!

Sounds like a delightful time! That shop's front window reminds me of your former cute store -- both little jewel boxes of stitched sweetness!
