Peter Rabbit Baby Blanket

I love Peter Rabbit.  I love Beatrix Potter and all her  cute little animals.

But I love Peter Rabbit the best.

Blanket in my quilting hoop.
This Baby Blanket is a panel of fabric printed with this Peter Rabbit (and friends)  art.

Under the  influence of my hand quilting neighbor, we sandwiched batting between the front Peter Rabbit fabric and a backing.  We stitched it right sides together and then turned it right side out, slip stitching the open area used for turning.

Then I put it in a hoop.  I take it down to her house to visit with her.
And stitch.

Last night we stitched by the fire in her fireplace.

You might be able to see better if you click on the photo to enlarge.  As I quilt (which is just the running stitch…by the way) the fabrics and batting together, it makes the area puff out.

More impressive in person I think.

But I am loving it.  As I stitch, it kind of comes to life in a 3 dimentional sort of way.

I'm having fun!
