My SAGA Raffle Basket! Take a peek.

When I teach at the SAGA National Convention - I donate a Raffle Basket.
I found this Vintage Sewing Box at an Antique Store.

This is the "Basket" part of my Raffle Basket.  I have filled it with treasures from my own sewing room.  You know, things like Antique Button Cards...circa 1914.....etc.
You'll have to see it all filled up at SAGA convention.

But, let me show you the inside (before I took the old stuff out and put my own old stuff in it!)
It has two doors that swing open from the top.  Inside, there is an old wooden spool that the doors rest on when shut.  And a spool holder on the side to store your thread.

The previous owner had this taped to one of the doors. I left it on  for the  new owner to decide if they want to remove it.

It is a beautiful old box.

When I saw it, I thought how wonderful it would be to Raffle it away for SAGA.
So really, it was never mine.

That made it easier to part with!

I love to prowl through old sewing boxes. Always interesting little notions, and sometimes something special, like a pretty button or bit of lace, or thimble. Sew nice!
