Amazing Vintage Bonnet

This Bonnet is quite old.  Wish I had a true date.
This Bonnet takes my breath away!

It is literally covered in Bermuda Faggoting. Which was why I bought it in the first place.

Bonnet Back

Close up of the Bonnet Back.

Because the decorative stitch is a pulled stitch instead of drawn work, it doesn't need to follow the "straight of grain", giving you more design opportunities.

Inside (wrong side)  of the Bonnet.

Inside of the Bonnet - crown.  The top of the crown seam  is nicely finished.
 The bottom.....not so much.

Did you notice the strings.  They will pull up the Bonnet to fit snugly.

The workmanship is truly beautiful.
I so wish the finest of  materials were still available.

Look for beauty and you will...

Have a happy day!

I wondered about the strings on the sides....funny they would be left loose like, when the inside was finished so nicely. Maybe that was to celebrate the fact it was adjustable!?!
