Sip n' Sew

Our happy group of Sip n' Sew ladies.

I was invited to teach a private group for a three day class.

They chose "Emma's Smocked Baby Dresses" pattern for the class project.

Lots of wonderful techniques on this dress.

We sewed "lace to lace" to make a pretty fancy band for the skirt.

We were set up right by the windows which provided natural light to everyone.

Perfect!

We stitched the lace bands to the hem (by machine) and added the lace edging by hand.    Stitching gathered lace is always prettier by hand because you have more control of the gathers.

And we began smocking the yoke of our dresses.

We were able to get alot done because the group was so small.
And the sewing area was perfect!

Of course, after a day of stitching….

there was sipping!

And we all had a real good time.
