Smocked Baby Layette by Suzette!

My friend Suzette came by for a visit and I was delighted that she brought more Old Fashioned Baby Clothes to show me!!

She made it out of a soft pink.

Complete with the Ruffled Brim Bonnet that comes in the pattern.

She made another set in White for her sons Teacher who is expecting a Baby Girl.

A very nice gift, I think!

I love the Baby's Smocked Layette pattern.

It is quick to smock with just a bit of Smocking at the neck and so sweet and dainty.

It is fashioned after an antique Baby Gown I have in my collection.

More to come from Suzette's visit.....

Pink Baby Shower

The little Pink Dress that I have been stitching  is now in the hands of the new Mother to Be, my neice.

With a Smocked Bonnet to match.

Smocked by my daughter.

This was the cutest cake ever! Made from baby items.

And a pink duck to swim in the punch.
Love that!

I really liked the flowers on the tables.
Mason jars were used as vases.  In the jars are lemon slices with bright, cheerful flowers.

And..a pink sock monkey. Cute!

Now, all is ready for baby Claire.

Join me, with Pink Saturday!

Pretty Baby in Smocked Silk Dress

Look at all the loving hands surrounding this child!
Another name for this post would be..

"Happy Baby in Silk Dress"!!

Her Grandmother told me this sweet angel was requested by her Church to be Baby Jesus for the Christmas Pageant.  And she wore her little smocked silk dress.

Look at her smile!  See...I told you "little babies dressed in OFB garments are happy and smiling"!!

With a wee bit of Smocking.

Baby Ashley in Baby's Smocked Layette

When I first saw little Ashley, she was dressed in the little gown I had made for her older cousin.  It is always a thrill to see a baby wearing something special you made.
Baby Ashley is all dressed up in Baby's Smocked Layette.  Complete with Bonnet!

She is pretty in pink.

Cute little baby toes!

The Princess and Her Shoe

Doodle, doodle, doo
The princess lost her shoe;
The princess hopped
The fiddler stopped,
Not knowing what to do.

This little baby doll is the  size of a newborn.  The light blue gown is made from  sheer  Fairy Fabric.  It has a touch of smocking at the neck and smocked sleeves. The neck is finished with entredeux and lace.
