First Old Fashioned Baby Give Away!

Little items that I love and hope you will too!
Well, I was secretly waiting to have 50 Followers and then do my first Give Away!  And before I could get myself organized I have 51.  How exciting!!  Now,  I am new to this give away stuff so any helpful hints for the future will be appreciated!  I thought I would pick some special things  to give one lucky person. I chose the Woman's New Testament Bible, antique Button Cards (Mother of Pearl of course), antique Needle package, Mother of Pearl crosses, Mother of Pearl Slide and some Antique Baby Lace.
So... I will take the comments (one comment here each, please) from this post and draw a name. Please share my blog with others because I will do this again when I reach 75!!  Please don't comment here unless you love that stuff in the picture.  I want it all to go to a good and loving home!!
This is the question for the comments.  Please tell me why you like to visit my blog.

I will draw the name on January 18 at 9  pm and post the name on Tuesday (if I have time, I will do it on Monday night but please don't stay up late waiting!!)

Oooh me, me!! LOL, I visit your blog for several reasons. 1) We are kindred spirits when it comes to love of all things baby and antique carded buttons. 2) I enjoy seeing what you are working on. 3) To learn more about the techniques and styles of baby clothes of years gone by. 4) I am a groupie. I admit it.

Congrats on 50+ followers!!

Oh Jeannie, I love to visit your blog for many reasons. When I first got back into baby sewing, right after our precious China baby was placed in our arms, my mother-in-love found your patterns. She and my FIL had been on a trip to the South and visited a fabric store that sold your patterns. She bought me the "Toddler Dress and Apron" pattern and some antique buttons. It was so inspiring and pretty. And then I got into smocking and taught myself. I did not know anyone who smocked, but I found a little community of encouraging smockers online (Everything Sewing) and fell in love.
I only recently found your blog but now have you on my blog roll so I know when you have a new post. I love not only your commitment to lovely baby things, but your love of the Lord. You are an encouragement.
Your blog is calm and peaceful, as well as inspiring.
I pray you have a beautiful day and thank you for this lovely give away.

I love to read your blog because there aren't many people out there who sew such beautiful heirloom quality baby things anymore. I sew for my 5 grands and love to see what you've done, and what you have to show for inspiration.

I love your buttons! I love digging though the boxes of buttons at your booth at market.

I know I have to budget for a couple of yards of your Fairy Fabric and buttons.

Your patterns are just precious.

Jeannie,
I have loved your sweet baby designs since I started smocking when I was 13 years old! I read your blog for many reasons . . . I enjoy seeing new projects with trims and fabrics, but most of all your tips, tricks and techniques!

Well, my goodness, what a find this blog has been! Your amazing patterns, of which I am sure I own most! And as a lover of all smocking, antique sewing & the like I would dearly love to be the winner of the giveaway items. They would look magnificent on a garment constructed especially as a memento of your generosity. May God bless you.

Oh, what beautiful things! (I could give them a very loving home.) I've just gotten started in the world of blogging, and this is one of the very first ones I have visited and bookmarked. I so appreciate all the time you are putting into sharing. I'm using your "Best Embroidered Baby Clothes" pattern right now for my first project of 2010.

I love to visit your blog because I also love vintage baby clothes and lace and buttons. I became an OFB "fan" when I took a couple of classes with you at SAGA Dallas and now have a beautiful granddaughter to spoil. I love your blog's sewing lessons--they are simple and easy to follow. Lastly, I love the gorgeous photography--I look forward to seeing your garden and your sewing projects. Happy blogging!

Please...me...pick me...because I love to see your beautiful work, wonderful tutoring, and reminders that it is the small things that make life beautiful. Babies for one of course, but hummingbirds, roses, china and more! If I only had the extra time to sit and sew along. Blessings to you.

I like to visit your blog during my break at work. I sit down with my diet coke ( work version of a cup of tea) and feel like I am visiting with a friend. I am jealous of your local friends that come to sew with you in your kitchen or in your garden. Your detailed instructions have given me the confidence to try new patterns and techniques. Looking forward to our next visit !

I was blessed to take a class from you in Naperville several years ago, and I still hear your peaceful, calm, voice whenever I read your words--whether on your blog or in a pattern. It slows me down and allows me to take a deep breath, and remember the light that seem to come from within you and transferred on into your stitches. Your truly are an inspiration!

Jeannie,
I visit your blog because I feel like we are soul sisters. I have most of your patterns and even have a special binder with every single article (starting from 1996) that you've had in SB and CN magazines. I think you are an amazing seamstress and your style really sings to me. I wish that one day I can meet you and take one of your classes but for now, your blog will have to be good enough. I really enjoy all of your helpful tips and tutorials, and the glimps you give us into your personal life.
thank you !

take care,
Missy
