Sewing at the Beach Class Three

Really, can it get any better than sewing at the beach?
(well maybe warm weather!)

This is my happy group for the last class.  It took three classes before it occurred to me to do a group pic!  I was taking the photo so I am not in it.  But they are all smiling at me….so I am kinda part of it.

Finished Yoke - Lovely!

Hard at work stitching.

Finishing up stitching the Swiss Beading to the bodice.

Everyone in class did a fantastic job.
Many came very close to finishing.  The two dresses pictured needed only to complete the embroidery and buttons.

Amazing, right?

We were making Toddler Summer Dress with all the fun techniques to learn.

SATB Fun - Class Two!!

This is the view from my chair one lovely afternoon!
The second class I taught was a six hour class with wonderful embroidery.

We each chose an initial to embroider for ourselves or a  special person.

This is my Letter "B".
I am teaching this "Embroidered Alphabet" class at Saga this fall.

I see all kinds of pretty sewing things in class.
I'm especially fond of Tins.

Beautiful hand made pincushion.

Handy little Tin.

It's so nice to be able to personalize a gift by stitching an initial on it.

Sewing At The Beach!! Fun, Fun, Fun!!

There is a beautiful beach outside the hotel at SATB.
And it warmed up enough for me to sit outside to enjoy it one afternoon.

My first class was the "French Acadian Sundress".

It was a combination of Machine Sewing with Hand Sewing finishes and Embroidery.

And Machine French - Lacy Hem!

I love smiley faces!
In this two day class, the students really did come close to completing their dress.

They stitched Old Fashioned Bullion Roses on the Hem.

This is my sample Dress!

"Sugar and Spice and everything nice….."

Embroidery For Babies Class at the Saga Convention

At the National Saga Convention in September I will be teaching a class called Embroidery For Babies.

It is a 3 hour class focused on teaching the proper method for each stitch to help improve students embroidery skill, so some embroidery knowledge is required .

Many ladies are never quite happy with the way their stitches turn out and there is nothing like a hands on class to figure out how to achieve perfect stitches every time.

Jeannie will take you step by step through each stitch showing you which needle to use and the proper tension required to achive the desired result in your own embroidery.

We will be working on a Ready to Embroider Bib - no construction…only fun!!

Do you love the look of this little dress?
Jeannie's  pattern is not in print but it is included with this class.

Day Three Sewing Fun at Farmhouse Fabrics

Removing Threads for Hand Hemstitching.
Our class at Farmhouse Fabrics was a pleasant mix of Machine Sewing and Hand Sewing.

We sewed Entredeux by machine and finished it by hand.

Everyone enjoyed the tranquility hand sewing brings.

It was a beautiful day and some students took advantage of the natural light outside on the patio at Farmhouse Fabrics.

Carolyn is looking at Sally who is….

Hanging up laundry (fine linen heirloom blouse) in the sun to dry!
