Antique Baby Gown One

Also while teaching for the fun Sip and Sew, I was overjoyed to examine some stunning family Baby Gowns.

This one had Smocking and was a Bishop style.

The hem was beautiful.

I was not surprised to see the unfinished edge on the inside of the gown.  It is odd to me that so many of the old garments are so obviously made by skilled fingers but the inside is not bothered with at all.

AND, it is still intact despite all the washing this gown must have had through the years!

Featherstitching delightfully stitched!!
