It''s Sew Heavenly

My Christening Gown made from French Acadian Christening Gowns pattern.

Fashioned after the style so popular in South Louisiana in days gone by.

A bit of  history for you to stitch.

The shop It's Sew Heavenly has the perfect name.

Just step inside and it truly is heavenly for any Heirloom Stitcher.  You will think you died and went to Heirloom Heaven! You will find an abundance of Lace, fine Fabric, Trims and more.

There are so many prettily stitched dresses  on display to inspire you.

This is where I went to teach……in South Louisiana.

Here is Brenda pulling threads on her Swiss Batiste.  The very first thing we did was pull threads to prepare for the Hemstitching.  You can't do anything until that part is finished.

Lucky, there were only a few threads to withdraw.

We sewed our beautiful lace together to form a Fancy Lace Band.

Then we stitched the Fancy Lace Bands to our dress front.

All the tucking was done with a Double (or Twin) Needle.

It was a busy first day………no homework.
Just rest and relax for a full day of stitching.

Tomorrow.
