Fine Embroidery Circa 1930

Take your embroidery skills to a higher level while learning lovely embroidery stitches popular in 1930.  You will be working on a Baby Bib copied from from the original in my collection.  You will be given the embroidery pattern and stitch instructions to enable you to re-create this embroidered bib as you work on the stitches in class.  The stitches include the Padded Scallop, Padded Satin, Trailing, Granito and Padded Monogram 

This class is for Intermediate to Advanced stitches.  Basic hand embroidery skills required but you don't need to know these stitches.

This is a 6 hour class


This is the Dress we will be embroidering.  
However the stitches we will be working are different.

Embroidery on a Baby Dress
This class is all about fine embroidery, lace edging and how to apply them to a pretty little garment.  The project is a sweet Baby Dress that features lovely embroidery cascading down the front and along the hem.  You will learn how to accurately trace the embroidery onto the garment front and begin the embroidery before you cut it out.  A variety of stitches will be taught and we will discuss how to substitute different stitches in a design to personalize the embroidery.  Stitches included are: Bullion Rose and Rosebud, Outline/Stem Stitch, Seed Stitch, Eyelets and Shaded Eyelets.  In addition to the embroidery , we will work constructions samples of Entredeux to Fabric (the Old Fashioned Method) Evenly Gathered Lace to Entredeux by hand and  the Baby Placket  We will begin stitching the gathered Lace Edging to our Dress Front.  You will leave class with an abundance of embroidery information and several nice techniques as well.  This dress will be constructed by sewing machine, according to the pattern directions, at home.  
Choose size 3-6 Months or size 6-9 month

Skill Level: Beginner but must know how to read a pattern to construct this dress at home.

This is a 9 hour class.
