Antique Button Cards

I am moving things around in my Sewing Room.

And I found this box of Antique Buttons.  They weren't lost.  I just didn't remember they were there.

They are Mother of Pearl.  From the Ocean.
And date from the early part of the 1900's

I love the decorative card they are sewn on.
They would be pretty in a Frame.  Or  pretty on a garment.

"All the nicest garments use genuine Mother of Pearl Buttons!"

Beautiful Antique Button Cards

One gross (=12 dozen or 144 buttons) Circa 1915 Mother of Pearl Buttons on  cards.
These buttons were made in Austria prior to World War I.  Notice the buttons were hand sewn on the cards!

See the Made In Austria stamp on the back of the card.

Each card has a letter to identify them in this picture.
This picture is for a fellow button lover who purchased a card at a market and has used them up.  If you don't see a card of the buttons you have now, they are Gone, Gone, Gone! But they are all beautiful. All are in short supply.  Some are shorter supply than others.  I bought all of them  the first time I saw them. I love them.   I will try to get them for sale on my Web site  sooner or later. They are going with me to market.
