Stitching With My Sew Sews

There was some stitching going on at my Sew Sews.

Lorraine B. was stitching gathered Lace edging to  a Bonnet Crown.

She finished attaching the lace.  So pretty!

Lorraine used a regular Bonnet Pattern and cut out the Bonnet and the Crown and stitched them together.  The Lace Edging serves as the Front.

We have some fancy stitchers in our group!!

Fabric Series - English Netting

English Netting is made in England
The color shown is Old English which is  not a bright white.
I saw this bolt of English Netting at Spec-Vog and there wasn't much in his stash. Had to have it.
This English Netting is a wonderful soft cotton.  It is the Real thing and it doesn't come cheap.  It is getting harder to find because the production of it has decreased dramaticly.

It is quite sheer and should be hand washed.  Be sure to pre shrink before sewing with it.
It is often used for fancy Children's wear and can be combined with Embroidered English Netting which is a beautiful lace made from English Netting.

I used English Netting many years ago for a Christening Gown featured in an article I did for Creative Needle.  Two of my Grandchildren wore it.

And it makes lovely Bonnets!
