In Florida With the Victorian Smockers!

I recently returned from teaching for the Victorian Smockers in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

South Florida in February.
Nice!!

It was fun to be with this group of ladies.
They love to sew and have a good time doing it!

Our Class Project.

Working in class.

The dress is made of fine linen.
We removed threads from the fabric to prepare for the hemstitching before we cut it out.

Hemstitching in class, after removing threads and stitching tucks.

Cute and simple Bonnet Design.
We had a little fun as we talked about how we could make a Bonnet to match the dress if we were careful about cutting out our sleeves.

Class continued next post……stay tuned!

Jeannie, thank you for a wonderful 3 days. You went above and beyond to make sure our workshop was successful. The classes were great. We all stretched ourselves to learn hemstitching and even the reluctant are now believers. Hope to send you some completed dresses. See you next year. Susan VH

Oh I bet they had a good time. How I wish I was in southern FL right now! Wonderful project to work on in the sunshine.
