Victoria's and Grams Quilt - Update.

I picked up Victoria's quilt (and I am claiming partnership with her!) from the quilter.

I love it!

The only thing left to do is stitch the binding around the edges of the quilt.

I love the quilting.  It's very 30's looking flowers.
I already knew Charlene would do a wonderful job of quilting  it!

Charlene (the Happy Quilter) puts all her customers quilts into a nice bag for pick up.

This is a picture of me.
I feel like a real quilter now!!

Victoria wants either a purple or yellow binding.
I'm waiting for her to  choose which, and then I can get busy!

Which fabric/color would YOU choose?

Yellow or Purple?

(no other choices allowed!)

This looks very impressive.
For my last couple of quilts I have made a binding of all the colours in the quilt. I cut strips from the colours and also the backing, joined them, and then just bound as usual. I think it gives a loving look rather than an art-product look. I admit I have joined the strips in a strict sequence, but no-one else would ever know that just by looking at the binding. And at the end when I have to make the final join the sequence goes wonky anyway. It actually does not matter if you get a join at a corner if all the joins are diagonal.

Your binding sounds very pretty. We'll see which Victoria chooses!

I like both. How about doing it this way? http://www.52quilts.com/2012/05/tuesday-tutorial-susies-magic-binding.html

I made a dresden quilt this way with the extra tie pieces, and it turned out great. I love her method.

The quilt is beautiful, and the binding will look great however you choose to attach it.

Purple, as it has yellow inside the flowers. Whereas the yellow doesn't have any purple. The quilt is beautiful!
