This is the pattern view of the little White Baby Daydress we will be making for the Sat. class when I am teaching for The Smock Shoppe.
This is one of the sweetest little dresses I've made!
We will stitch lace to fabric.
We will work hand stitched tucks. Not hard!
Don't you love the way the Featherstitching looks with the light behind the dress?
I love Featherstitching.
And Bullion Rosebuds
And the Old Fashioned Double Featherstitch.
And the single Featherstitch.
Here is your chance to perfect your Featherstitching, as well as pick up some other skills!
Spend a fun day sewing with me as I show you all the wonderful techniques needed to make this lovely little Daydress for your special baby. In class you will begin embellishing the dress front with lace, tucks, Bullion Rosebuds and the Old Fashioned Double Featherstitch. You will also stitch the old fashioned Baby Placket using a neat finish that leaves no raw edges. I will also demonstrate how to stitch entredeux to fabric using the old fashioned method and how to stitch evenly gathered lace edging to entredeux, along with tips for finishing this dress at home.
On Featherstitching

This is so pretty! I love featherstitching. I tucks, pleats, inserted lace, entredeaux, and anything else heirloomish. I wish I lived close enough to take this class. I know I've mentioned this in the last two comments I've left.

The feather stitching is adorable it makes me want to go and do some. I was reading one of my smocking books to day and there was a mention of you from another lady who was singing your praises and i was so excited that i know you from blogging.
Hugs Pat.

I would love to attend one of your classes!! are you ever in Charleston SC? Just beautiful!
Terri, I have taught in the Charleston area before but don't have anything scheduled in that direction.
Jeannie, this is such a beautiful dress! I would love to be able to take a class like this from you. I live close to Atlanta though, so that is a little far! Do you post your teaching schedule anywhere? I looked around on your blog, but didn't find anything. I would be first to sign up if you ever teach a class in Atlanta!
I love that little dress... so pretty!! I really need to work on my double featherstitching. And no... I am not working on that christening gown to get practice.
