Smocked Dresses: A Paris Flea Market

I love the smocking on this little yoke dress.

The Paris Flea market I went to  had several smocked garments.

Wonderful smocked scallops.  Gorgeous!

This is my favorite of all. 

More ….Blue and White.   

Who can resist?

And finally a little pink.

It was a lovely day!

Paris Flea Market Fun!

A Paris Flea Market!  Ahh, don't you just love the words….Paris Flea Market.

We were out and about early Sat. to visit one.

I was looking for old Baby garments and I was not disappointed.

Baby, childrens and womens clothing were plentiful.

Along with lots of interesting things

This eyelet Baby Bonnet came home with me.  But it wasn't until my second pass by the booth that the vender was willing to meet my price.  It is beautiful but has several tears in the fine fabric. 

But it's a  perfect class sample to show my students.

This wonderful booth was filled with sewing items.

And this, dear sewing friends, is my one regret about Paris.

I did not buy this lace!!

My Granddaughter loves a good Flea Market too.

She was great at finding things for me!

Street entertainment at the Flea Market.

It was pretty much over by noon!  So off to other fun things in Paris.

Paris Sister Trip - Paris Flea Market

Ah, a Paris Flea Market.

One of my Dreams come True!

And I was not diappointed!

I found many vintage linens.  Although no little baby gowns, unfortunately.

There were many items with exquisite monograms.

And everyday napkins with initials done in both fine and rough cross stitch.

This little silk childs dress interested me because of the Honeycomb smocking at the shoulders, and the hemstitching on the yoke. 

The back of the dress had several tucks at either side.

The only fine lace I saw in France was antique lace.

That seems very odd, doesn't it?

One man had a table piled high with old button cards.

This booth really interested me.  

There were lots of sewing items, old fabrics, old shop advertisments and some partially finished fine needlework which will be perfect to show my Whitework Class at the Saga Needlearts Retreat in Pa this April.

Here I am parting (gladly) with my money.

I barely had enough money left over for a cup of tea and a pastry afterward.

I had so much fun!!
