Cute and Useful!

Ruler Boxes!

They come in different styles.
This box has one large compartment and one smaller.
You can fit your trimming  scissors and other needful things in them.

Or choose a box with three compartments in it.

Great for keeping machine feet handy.

Both styles are stained to give them a vintage look,
and they have   The Old Fashioned Baby  stamped on them.

 Cute!

I also have Little Handy Boxes.

Handy little things...

to keep you neat and organized.

And so you know just where your things will be when you need them!

Cute and useful!

Another Day at It's Sew Heavenly!

From my class at It's Sew Heavenly

Sweet Baby wearing my Class Sample Dress and Bonnet.

We finished the class by learning how to stitch tiny eyelets to  put on a slip.

Slips are the perfect place to practice your embroidery.

It was sad to say goodbye!!

(I hope everyone was excited to get home and stitch!)

Pretty things - a lot of fun!
Let me see them when they're done."

Teaching - It's Sew Heavenly Heirloom Sewing Shop

The cheerful group of ladies  stitching in my recent class at It's Sew Heavenly.
Heirloom Sewing is alive and well at It's Sew Heavenly in Youngsville, Louisiana!

It's always fun to stitch and learn new things and practice and perfect our skills.
You will find fabric and garment samples all over the place!

This shop has everything "Heirloom"!

And they are always friendly and ready to help you.

Brenda made us wonderful meals for every  class time lunch.
She makes the best Chicken-Sausage Gumbo I've ever had!

And we had Pumpkin cake for dessert.
Very fallish.

A new student for me.  She was very attentive to my demonstration!

…more next time..

Teaching at It's Sew Heavenly

Back of the Baby dress and Bonnet we stitched in my class at It's Sew Heavenly.
Tucks were the order of the day for this class.

Happily stitching our Tucks!

And even more happy to finish stitching our tucks and get the fabric ready  to cut out!

Precise cutting is important.

The outside of the black line is the cutting line.  With small 3/8" seams it is vital that the cutting out is accurate.

Brenda, the shop owner, is third from the left.
We   had such fun in this class.  The two ladies on the left are Sisters.
How fun is that?

She is showing me a previous class project - very nice.
I love it when students bring garments they made  to show me!

Gorgous Baby in Winter White Daygown

The Winterwhite slip from the recent Sew Beautiful Magazine.

I recently taught at the shop "It's Sew Heavenly".

I think my favorite thing about teaching there was seeing Lacie's sweet little daughter in my garments!!

This Daygown was designed to be featured in Sew Beautiful Magazine.

The fabric is soft and warm Swiss Flannel.
I added pretty embroidery and lace frills.

I like to use beading at the sleeve edge because you can pull it up to fit Baby's wrist.

The Old Fashioned Baby wants Babies to look like…well Babies!!

(mission accomplished)

Brenda with her precious Granddaughter.

The Winterwhite Daygown is available in a Kit.

Every Baby should have one!!

Saga Convention Fun Ends!

This was the Lucky Table.
(do you see all the baskets this table won?)

Saga Convention Banquet - 2013

One of their group won the basket I donated.

And Robin won a OFB gift certificate donated by the Ozark Foothills Saga Chapter.

We had a really great Texas style dessert.

And on my way home I was able to visit three sweet Grandchildren.

And make Cookies!

Hows that for a great end to a wonderful time?

Saga Sew and Share Treasures!

The Saga National Convention might be over but I am not done telling you about all the exciting fun I had!

When Sew and Share was over….I got to take these treasures home!
(Thank you Mary!!)

Pretty Hemstitching and tucked details on this one.

And the blue and pink smocking appeals to me here.

I wish you could feel how yummy this fabric is.

This is a little information about them.

I will be sharing them with you in the future!!

Lorraine's Embroidered Baby Sacque

Beautifully made by Lorraine B.
One of my Sew Sew friends made this pretty little Baby Sacque. She displayed it at Show and Share at the Saga Convention (this picture was not taken at Show and Share as no pictures are allowed).  Show and Share is one of the Highlights of Convention along with Design Show.  Ladies display garments they made and it is so fun to see them all.

Very inspiring too!

I'm so happy  Lorraine used my Embroidery Design on her Sacque!

Lorraine is known for her beautiful Bullion Roses.
Or "Booo yawn" as she pronounces them in  true Southern style!

This embroidery design can be found on page 34 of my Jeannie B's Book of Heirloom Embroidery Designs and Stitches.

You'll find  stitching instructions in my book as well.

Happy Stitching!

Shirleys Stitching Bag!

A few of the Stitching Bags made by my Mother In Law, Shirley.

She made one for each student in my Miss Bufords Bonnet class at the Saga Convention.

There are two loops at the top of the Bag.  One on each side. You slip the longer loop through the shorter loop to close the bag.

And it fits nicely over your wrist.

It is just the right size to take when you travel.  I might have a larger project box in my suitcase but I need something small to carry my "active" stitching in.  It might be a sleeve that needs lace stitched to it or a Bonnet to Smock or my Quilt piecing.

I want it to easily fit on my lap in the car or plane.

Notice the Dovo Lace Scissors - Airplane safe!

She included a clasp to attach a Scissor.
I love this because it keeps them from falling and getting lost.  I can use them to snip while still attached.

The inside is as cute as the outside!
There are two handy pockets to hold necessaries.

All ready to go with a Premie Bonnet to take along.

It was a nice treat for the students and very nice of Shirley to make them!!

I love mine.
